Tryon St.This uptown spot’s wood was restored from old Irish pubs and other Irish artifacts, including an a 19th-century Victorian bar. The special whiskey tasting room adds to this bar’s serious credibility, and it’s worth a visit. The upstairs expansive dance floor takes this bar down a few notches, though. You come to a pub to get sloshed on Guinness, not dance with vodka-Red Bulls. Tired of stuffy restaurants or impersonal hotels for your social activities? Sir Edmund Halley's has even been named Best Place for Late-Night Dining in the South by Turner South.

• IN NEED OF A PERFECT GIFT?

The centrepiece of this bar is our statue of St. Patrick that dates from the mid 1800’s. The Belfast Mill, 144 Brevard CourtMany Charlotteans haven’t heard about this spot, and many of the ones who have don’t know where to find it. This is the gem of Irish pubs in Charlotte, and its semi-secretive quality is part of the allure.

Located in Historic SouthEnd, Charlotte, NC.

Sign up to our newsletter for all the latest news, events and deals at Rí Rá. Everything was great & the event was a success! Sterling did a fabulous job & the other staff members were incredibly helpful as well. Thank you again for your help & I am sure we will be back. I would absolutely LOVE to work with you all again and will definitely be recommending the space to my future clients.

The Whiskey Room, decked in copper and soft lighting, features one of the most extensive ranges of Irish whiskeys in Charlotte, including a number of rare bottles you’ll find only at Rí Rá. The whole experience is a treat for both whiskey aficionados and those new to Irish whiskey. The Whiskey Room is perfect for smaller groups, something more impromptu, or those seeking a truly unique atmosphere and experience. To accompany the whiskey collections there is an extensive draft selection consisting of both local and import beers. The space can be used privately or shared.

You and your team did a wonderful job and the space is just perfect. If there are any other special requests you have just let us know and we will always do our best to accommodate you. Paying respect to Saint Brigid of Kildare, known for her woven “Brigid’s cross” and being the patroness saint of beer. We celebrate her Saint’s feast day on February 1st. Fifth St.Ditto the dark, crowded and friendly bit from above but add in an even-larger patio.

• Interested in hosting a private event?

If you have any specific requirements our dedicated Event Co-ordinator and Chef will be more than happy to create the perfect party for you. We also provide entertainment; from small acoustic acts, to the best local & regional band talent, as well as Karaoke or DJ dance parties. We are particularly proud of our outreach work with sports groups such as Queen City Gooners, Charlotte Barcelona and Florida Gators. We are also heavily involved with local charities and try to give back to the community that so graciously welcomed us to the neighborhood. We host an annual golf tournament in aid of Angels of the Abbey charity and also host an annual event in March for the Saint Baldrick’s Foundation for Childhood Cancer and have raised over $27,000 to date. The Victorian bar in the middle of the pub was restored from the officers mess in the Phoenix Park barracks in Dublin.

The Victorian Bar

The best pint of Guinness in Charlotte, along with a vast array of local & domestic craft beers, International beers, Quality wines & spirits and whiskies from around the world. If you like amazing, dark, little Irish style dive bars... I went with some friends and they had the NCAA Tournament on, and even though we aren't from the Charlotte area, you immediately feel like you are family in a place like that. Top it off with the cool atmosphere of being on a side street/back alley, and you are set. One of the best bars in the latte arcade area! Highly advise for anyone who wants to relax and get a beer.

Our adjoining Whiskey Room can also be reserved for parties of up to 35 people (seated). The entire top floor, excluding the Patio, can accommodate up to 110 people seated. AV facilities include a wireless microphone, dedicated audio, stage lighting, and a drop-down screen & projector for presentations or slide shows. Named after Galway Bay in Ireland and a nautical history, the pub serves up some of the best fish and chips around. Try a traditional dish like shepherd's pie alongside one of the pub's vast whiskey brands. Rí Rá comes from "Rí Rá agus Ruaile Buaile", a phrase translating roughly as divilment, good fun or any sociable activity that improves with fine food, a nice pint of Guinness or a dram of Uisce Beatha (whiskey).

Our mission is to provide an unforgettable experience as your local watering hole, only serving spirits and ales to satisfy your drinking needs, where neighbors become friends and friends become family. Everyone had such a great time, the food and drinks were lovely and we will be back next year for our anniversary. It wouldn’t be a party without great food and drinks and we offer a wide variety of both to fit every taste and budget. We have packages that cover everything from a few appetizers to a full-on buffet, a formal sit-down dinner or anything in between. Nestled amongst the skyscrapers that make Charlotte the banking capital of the south, this hidden gem of a patio will delight, whether for after work drinks, dining al fresco or summer time soirees.

The first bar you encounter as you enter the pub is our Shop Bar. It is a fine example of a pub that is the focal point of community life in rural Ireland transported to Charlotte. The bar originated from the north of the country and includes a restored Guinness mirror and a collection of ledgers from Dublin Corporation dating from 1800 – 1840. These ledgers are available to all to peruse over a quite pint.

AV facilities include a drop down screen, projector, wireless mic and dedicated audio. We've been serving up creamy pints to the good people of Charlotte since 2001. Connolly's has been known for our friendly, quick service and creating a great atmosphere.

Fifth St.There had to be a last-place finisher. The interior of Fitzgerald's feels so un-Irish and so enveloped with big-screen televisions, that it's as if Buffalo Wild Wings and Bennigan’s met and somehow produced an offspring. Few self-respecting bargoers frequent this sticky-floored bar thinking they’re getting an authentic Irish experience. They’re coming here because they're new to Charlotte or want free parking.

Our cocktail recipes have been developed in partnership with Jack McGarry. Jack is a partner in the Dead Rabbit which was awarded the “World’s Best Bar 2015” by Tales of the Cocktail – The Spirited Awards. There is plenty to learn about whiskey and even more to enjoy. The story of whiskey is long, fascinating and worth sharing with good company. The truth is, it’s a journey of a lifetime.

Set a Guinness down on one of the barrel-turned-tables in this cozy pub and stay awhile. You’ll be glad you’re not at Fitzgerald’s. The Workman’s Friend, 1531 Central Ave.This bar has a working fireplace outside, and the chips come in a brown bag. It’s hard to not feel like you’re in an Irish home when you sit down to drink here. Tyber Creek Pub, 1933 South Blvd.Irish pubs are supposed to be crowded, dark and friendly.
